Fashion and Style/ Dark Angels.

Fashion and Style show March 23, 2007 Dark Angels. Alvin Valley's Fall collection was early aviatrix Harriet Quimby, who in 1911 became the first woman to receive a pilot's license. Hence, the show's emphasis on trousers. The wide-legged, corset-waist wool versions Valley paired with an acid-yellow bodysuit were most flattering, far more so than the derriere-flattening narrow-fit ones.Corsets were a dominant trend everywhere, whether amping up the sexy quotient of Monarchy designer Eric Kim's preppy-punk looks providing a streamlined silhouette for Kevan Hall's elegant gowns. His show also featured an aviation theme: "the urban jet set." Gliding down a runway painted with a landing strip, the models wore glittery jewel-tone dresses in silk chiffon, taffeta, satin, and tulle. The best of these, an obsidian-gray chiffon gown with chinchilla sleeves and a plunging neckline, evoked Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly, and earned Hall, whose fans included Garcelle Beauvais, Tisha Campbell, and Hayden Panettiere, one of the week's few standing ovations.

Fashion and Style/ Dark Angels

Fashion and Style show March 23, 2007 Dark Angels. David Cardona made a statement with his military-inspired collection for Bebe, which he called War and Peace. As they walked past a front row containing company spokesmodels Rebecca Romijn and Eva Longoria along with Virginia Madsen, Cardona's models, all in matching platinum wigs and jackboots, resembled a platoon of urban warriors. Hoods, patent leather, asymmetrical zippers, studs, and other hardware featured heavily, as did peace symbols, which grew progressively more prominent as the show went on, culminating in the massive one emblazoned across the final look, a floor-length, flowing white gown.In Tara Subkoff's Imitation of Christ homage to goth club kids, black lipstick, pale skin, and the aforementioned skeletal remains gave the collection an appropriately spooky aura. Her spangled minidresses and lace-over-velvet gown wowed Ione Skye, Elisha Cuthbert, and Ginnifer Goodwin.

Fashion and Style/ Thom Browne

Fashion and Style show March 20, 2007 – Thom Browne introduced Black Fleece, his highly anticipated collection for Brooks Brothers, today on the sixth floor of the company's Madison Avenue flagship. The line encompasses both men's and women's looks, and though Browne has done custom work on a one-on-one basis for female clients hankering for his signature snug jackets and high-water pants, this is the first time he has created a full range of clothes for what the Brooks gent might once have referred to as the fairer sex. "I really had a good time with it," Browne said backstage of the new challenge. "I just want to do beautiful clothes for girls—great jackets, smart trousers, the things they say they want".

Fashion And Style/ Alberta Ferretti

Fashion and Style show in Milan February 20th. Alberta Ferretti came out strong for the Fall Fashion 2007 collection. She'll never be a minimalist of course, so the small pea jacket that opened the show came with puff sleeves. While a V-neck dress had a flaring hourglass shape that shaded from dove gray at the bodice to chorcoal at the knee. Coats were potent too. One princess silhouette was decorated with a warm sunset print. Glossy leathers were studded, as is the trend this season. Ferretti is a designer who truly gets evening, satisfying both the desire for ornament and less glamorous.

Fashion and Style Fall of 2007 preview fashion show. Adam + Eve: Adam Lippes' fall fashion collection embraced the sporty collegiate life, cozy cable knit sweaters, enormous and thick as duvets were paired with slouchy tweed coats or a shrunken rain slicker. A wool trench with a tie dye effect would make an awesome cover up for day or night. Also there was patent trimmed cropped jacket or a gathered sack dress studded with brass spheres. The cocktail dresses were black taffeta bubble with sequin trim or the triple tiered plisse' mini with glittery dots.

Fashion and Style/ Miu Miu/ Style

Fashion and Style show in Paris March 4, 2007. This show started out really simple . The first look out was a camel suit with a slightly nipped waist and rounded hips over a pleated knee length skirt worn with knee socks and pumps. Miuccia Prada then returned her attention to the natural synthetic dichotomy that informed her Prada show, with the accent falling heavily this time on the man made. In reality those A line coats were 100 percent real leather, but lined with neoprene to look spongy and fake. Prada had given everyone plenty to ponder on their long plane ride home after the show.
